Corn jars to dry
    #3033514 - 08/21/04 07:19 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

I have some popcorn jars colinizing and i belive they are too dry.

I am using tyvec lids and i think all the moisture in the corn has evaperated. They are about 2 weeks since inaculation and colinizing very slow.

Would it be posssible to inject some water into the jars? maby a few cc's each. Would boiling the water be sufficent or should i pressur cook the whole syrenge?

I did soak overnight. And actuly had water in the bottom of the jar because i did not cover my tyvec lids. But the water is was long gone about 2 days later. Now 2 weeks later i could hardly imagine any water in the jars at all.

YES , but it would disturb the colinisation, so yes but it would be stupid because it would be boiling water so its HOT which mean it will KILL the spores ,and if u wait the syringe will CONTAMINATE yes ?
so really unless ur dumb ull wait till is approx 80 done and dunk it!

it will disturb it for maybe 24 hours, because youd need to inject 2ccs, and shake, but in the long run it could be for the best, but i still think the slowness is from the tyvek, ive talked to 2 or 3 different people who say they have better luck with pollyfill. why dont you inject sterile water into 2 of them, if they start whoopin ass hook up the rest.
