    #3031091 - 08/21/04 02:53 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Hello All. Just thanking God for a nice community of true hard-headed and easy-going fungus bad boys (hopefully a few nice girls as well.) To John Allen: you're a gem...

anyways--- here's my semi-novice wonder-filled mushroom idea of the moment.

Does anyone know if out in the _Buffalo Turd_ at Yellowstone NP you can find ANY sort of fungus??? (And naturally any ACTIVE mycology???)

word

Peace Out, mad props to all-yall

Anywhere there are trees there are fungi. Trees cannot survive or reproduce without the fungi they have mutualistic relationships with.

As far as active species, you'll probably do best looking on buffalo dung for various Panaeolus species. In general, you're not going to find much in the way of active mushrooms unless you're in the pacific northwest or gulf coast regions.

Happy mushrooming!
