Has anyone ever dumped out one of their jars after pressure cooking to feel its moisture conent? Should i be able to mash it? Should the grains be exploded?

exploded grains are no good
some exploded are okay, but the vast majority shouldn't be
btw, look into soaking your grains and draining for 2 hours or so to get yr moisture content right

One of the great things about WBS is the fact that all you have to do is simmer for 30 mins and then drain for 30 mins and you have good water content. So if you are trying to manually add X mls of water I suggest you try it this way, you can't really go wrong doing this (as long as you drain properly of course).

i have some wbs jars going that i thought had a good water content.  After the soaking and draining etc, i had some PC'd jars that didnt look too wet, but didnt look too dry either.  They sort of clump together because they are somewhat wet.  But so far its been 4 days and no signs of colonization :undecided:
