Chantarellus Cibarius hunt
    #3021685 - 08/19/04 12:59 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

I'm looking for growing kits/spores for Chantarellus Cibarius, yellow chanterelle.

Does anyone have any tips on where I might find kits and/or spores for chanterelles online? Thanks.

Have never seen online sources of chanterelles cultures.
But here is a good link about the isolation and growing of chanterelles - it does not seem to be that easy:

Oh wow. Well, thank you for replying. I just love chanterelles, I could eat them all day. Figured i'd try to grow them in my home, instead of having to order them, often frozen or dried from gourmet food stores, which costs an arm and a leg.

In any case, thank you.

I am not sure what is going to be cheaper - buying them or growing them yourself

They have been cultivated. But to my knowledge it has only been done once. It is referenced in GGMM but I don't have the book near me right now.
And yes, they are mycorrhizal. If I remember correctly, it was done by growing the mycelium in a pot with a tree innoculated with a mycelium slurry.

peace - @cro
