GETTING READY TO HARVEST TONIGHT,THANKS EVERYBODY FOR ALL YOUR VALUABLE INPUT!just pick MUSHROOMS with hand, right?what about the aborts(r they worth picking)and if no do i need to pick all of the aborts before i redunk for my second flush?dunk 24 then roll and wait for second flush, right?THANX! WISH I COULD TAKE PICTURES FOR YOU ALL

Nice to heer about your first harvest. Pick with your hand but clean your hadn first so you dont risk contaming the cakes. hell yea pick teh aborts, there moer potent then the big guys, save them for yourself 2g of aborts is equal to about 3.5 of normal fruitbodys. Dunk and roll for sure! Throw some exta coir or verm on top too.

thanks grower.the aborts have black heads now(rotting?)can they still be picked for consumption

Tweezers are good to pick with but just be sure to clean up if you use your hands. GrOwer is right about the aborts they're extremely potent....pick'em...eat'em. If you leave them they'll rot and contaminate the rest of your casing or cake or whatever. Congratulations on your grow!! :thumbup:

they have blackheads out but still appear vibrant and healthy(no physical evidence of rotting other than black). can i still consume

I wouldn't, it's your life you're playing with here, I'm sure you have other healthy shrooms that you can eat and enjoy, don't risk it, you can always grow more.

yeah don't eat them if they're black/green, etc. I think some blueing is fine though.

no they wont. the black headed aborts are fine to pick and consume so long as you don't wait till they deteriorate into mushy, fuzzy, masses. an abort from a flush should be picked when all of the other mushies from that flush finish and they will be fine for eating. only a fool would waste perfectly good aborts. :cheers:

ummm.... I ate about a gram of aborts with another two grams of dried mature mushies yesterday... they, IMO, are absolutly fine. Save them, eat them, and prepare yourself...
