Hawaiian Woodrose?

I'm posting this from a hotel in Kauai, Hawaii. Today I went on a guided bike/hike tour through surrounding forest. Anyway, our guide pointed out some Hawaiian Woodroses, so recalling Erowid I snatched a few figuring they might come in handy. After a little research I found these were not as good as HBWR. However, I'm still unclear as whether these contain any lsa at all. Some web sites say yes, some say no. Has anyone had any experience with these seeds. I have 10 fresh seeds. It's no big deal if they aren't potent as I don't have much interest in trying them personally. I figured they would make a nice souvenir for a friend back in the states. Peace Out P.S. Hawaii is so friggin beautiful. Everyone should visit here at least once in their life. Tomorrow I will be in Maui. I can't wait!

God of Dreams, no my name is not Jamie. And Kadakuda, I'm aware that the baby woodrose is the prefered seed and the seeds I have would be less potent. However, that still doesn't answer my question as to whether the plain old woodrose contains any active akaloids at all. Mahalo

try an extraction, that can't be more potent than the Baby woodrose, right? Might get high, might not. Give us a report!

Of course, it's possible that they are HBWR, the guide might not know of the distinction between HWR and HBWR...

I have worked with several people from hawaii who thought they had what was argyreia nervosa and they all turned out to be different varieties. Some were the large woodrose and some were unidentifiable species, but deff. not nervosa. The large woodrose have palmate like maple leaves while the baby woodrose have heart shaped leaves. Thats the easiest indicator.
most people feel that the large woodrose, dispite previos mention in gottliebs terrible books , are absolutely void of active components. MJshroomer should have some interesting references to this.. I personally am unsure.

If they are indeed not hBwr, they're useless for ethno reasons... they're rather large, flat seeds... probably bigger than lima beans.

Your post confuses me harvey. The large woodrose seeds I have seen aren't flat but sort of ovate black and very pubescent (which cannot be scraped off like baby woodrose). are you refering to large or another variety?

The large hawaiian woodrose seeds I've seen were round, not flat I think it was at least 10 years since I saw them, but I'm pretty sure. Is my memory playing tricks on me?
