Messy Jars after PC

Just took my jars out of the PC and there looks like there is some BRF material on the outside of them.

Perhaps one of the lids wasn't on tight enough or maybe some tape on the holes was loose?

Should I just start the cakes over again or just try and see what happens?

Take the tape off immediately wipe the jar in question down with alcohol and use a new piece of foil to cover it with, you can also wipe that down with alcohol but the foil should be very sterile right out of the box. GL bro

Make shure you arent venting the pressure off your PC ...that will cause the substrate to boil outta the jars. Dont ever remove the lid till there isnt any pressure at all

Yeh I left that round thing on until it was at 0 psi. Should I have left it on until the actual temperature of the PC was room temp?

But thanks a lot guys. Its good to have a forum like this in case something doesn't go as planned.

I cleaned them off with a new rag and some lysol. Im just going to inoc them and see what happens. Good thing I got a good deal at one of the vendors where each syringe only cost me about 5$. If it doesn't work I'll try again and with plastic lids. I don't trust these metal ones too much.

Agar/liquids boil over substrates do not IME, I've had a seal blowout @15lbs. and never had a prob with sub. I have heard that venting off too quickly leads to negative pressure sucking in unclean air, also allowing your weight to giggle to much can also cause boil overs. I may very well be missing your point Alounacara, I am sorry if I did  :blush: Don't forget to shake that syringe vigorously! :wink:
