Hey mcman, since your mushroom cultivator site is now down, have you considered making an informational webpage...you know, with all the calculations to optimize our setups...entrainment, exchange rates, equipment, how to use acrylic and pvc, etc....it would be immensely useful.

With cubensis I do add a layer at the bottom sometimes. But I just use sterile, moistened perlite. I hate vermiculite. Lately all I can find in small bags, is really poor quality. Small diameter stuff. I can get good bulk vermiculite, but don't like to have any of my ingredients sitting around to long. Perlite works. If everything goes good, the bottom layer increases the number of flushes. The only contaminants I get from that bottom layer is when I use small diameter vermiculite. I havent grown any cubensis in a while though, been focusing my attention on other species. Haven't used the bottom layer for these others.

Thanks!!! I can't wait....oh yeah, i know your a 3d designer and all, so you prolly don't need any help in this department, but i'd be more than happy to help design/maintain the site....i've got quite a bit of material of my own that i'd llike to put up somewhere.
