Marist College, and I'm really hoping there are some cool people there. Studying psychology.

The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

Thanks alot!

I'm kinda of hesitant to go, since I'm not the most social person but I know for a fact that when I come back home about a year from now, I'll be so different. In a good way too. College is gonna be great.

Arrgh now I gotta get all the "make new friends" stuff over with

A word of quick advice from personal experience, don't worry too much about the social stuff. When I first went off to college, it was what I focused on, and it made me a little anxouis. People often end up finding a niche which makes them happy. You'll make friends, just don't be afraid to get to know people, and if you hit it off, great, if not, no big problem!

But yeah, succeeding acdemically is important too cause it can really help with a career (of course).

Stefan, where are you studying? I can't wait to get into psychology, even though I've taken a few courses before. Excellent field, isn't it?

yeah adamj, you'll enjoy it! and it's new for everybody so everyone is trying to make new friends, don't worry about that. you'll meet plenty of cool people

Twirling: At the University of Nijmegen, it's in The Netherlands
going to my second year now

you'll like it, lot's of interesting stuff but ofcoarse there are extremely boring subjects too. the farther you get the more interesting it will get because you can choose what direction in psychology you want to specialize in.

Oh man, I dream of being able to live in the Netherlands. It seems so much more tolerant & open minded there. Is that true?

What area are you looking to specialize in?

I go a private college in the southern US. I'm studying acting . It's kinda cool for me too, because the past couple years i've been learning a lot about myself and gaining an interest into how the brain works on a pyschological, personal, human level, and acting helps you understand how other people (fictional or not) think and act, which has only strenghted my ideas about the mind.

Wow, that was a very long sentence. College is fun, just don't let the first year, with all it's bullshit, get you down. It nearly did for me, but i'm going back baby!
