sounds pretty good. pretty cool.
i cant really tell you what i think of the remix cause ive never heard the original song... but it does sound good.

i love fruity loops. this sounds a bit more professional than the shit i do though.  Tell me what you think of my stuff here.

haha... and i recognize that one clip from the army LSD video "after recieving a small dose of LSD, theyre confused"

Well, everthing after the last 'confused' is our production exclusively.

This track started off very ambiant.  We added all the Orchestral sounds/ triphop/dnb beats/basslines and all of the glitch effects.

Some of you stuff sounds good.  It sounds like you use alot of generaters.

That track Rave-ish test 1 would most likely be called psy-trance.

I feel that most of the power in fruty loops is housed in envolope editing, peak controlers, granulizers, the wasp/3x0sc VSTs, and being able to get down to the millisecond with samples.

I've been writing music for like 9 months or so (I know I am still a newbie), but it apears that there is a glass cealing of mastering quality we can't get past.  I think in order to get stuff to sound as good a timberland, hybrid, bt, moby, juno reactor...ect is just to have like 500 thousand dollars of equpment.  :frown:

don't lose hope, it CAN be done with fruityloops!  get yourself some studio monitor speakers if you don't have some.  also good quality vst plugins make all the difference!  i've heard a lot of people saying Waves Platinum plugins are some of the best out there and will work with fruity, though i haven't had any luck.

listening to the track now, sounds great!  loving the d&b part...u did justice to the original for sure

I know VSTs can do alot, but there is just a level that I can't get to with my *current* set up.

Me and my wife are going to spend the next year or 2 collecting equpment/soft synths/ keyboards. But up to a year ago we where like super poor. Like food stamp/ condemed house poor. So currently we are just VERY glad to have stuff like a constant supply of food.

I think we might just invest in all the pro tools software. Also Korg has a soft synth that has like 4 of there old keyboards in it. We are also getting an old wavestation from a buddy.

I walked in to a gutar center a week or two ago and almost cried. My wife had been telling me for months that the difference between what we do and what most big people do is all the keyboards/equmpement. And when I started playing with 3 thousand dollar keyboards I really felt what she said.

There is also a program I am going to inlist in that lets you apprintice to a recording studio for like a year. I'm going to do that, just so I can know all those mastering tecks that make radio crap sound so good comming out of speakers...

i know the feeling man...
i've recently become a bit disallusioned with the purely software method of production but can't afford any other way

Stereo Pattern sounds alot like older Speedy J.

Cool stuff man.

I know the feeling with the many genres thing. My wife and I produce trance, progressive, house, mtm (a style of my wife's creation), everything 90/180 bpms, and we also produce breaks.

thanks.  that track was particularly inspired by Venetian Snares i think. i've never heard of Speedy J
i started out producing trying to make hard & fast drum & bass and after a while i had to explore some other things.  just been getting into 120-140 bpm breaks and psytrance stuff in the last few months and it's been so much fun!

Funny, you have a song called Stereo Pattern?

That's also my music handle... www.zebox.com/stereopattern

You can do a lot with VST's and Fruity Loops, they can even get rid of FL's sort of MIDI quantized sound and bring it up to a new level of quality.
For good vst's, look for Absynth, Z3TA, Waldorf Attack, Space Synthesizer, Oddity, Pro-53, and NI Battery.

ahhhh that's right! I remember hearing this...
I love how you reworked the drums, very dirty and aggressive-which is pretty fitting for the tone of the drums.
You're good with the Squarepusher/mu-ziq drum style, keep going with it.  I've attempted to do something like that with failure, I couldn't get it to sound as in your face as you've got it.  And the ethereal pads going along with the drums are nice and smooth; good track Clean

thanks
it was all about subtle variations of delay and and reverb on each drum hit, plus  it's compressed to hell.
i haven't attempted another track like that one yet but probably will soon.
