this is my first try so forgive me if i seem cracky.. does this look the same as this Panaeolus subbalteatus http://www.mushroomjohn.com/species16.htm
i found this in the woods across the highway from a livestock farm. its been very damp here. notice the size from the tree seed next to it

Well, P. subbalteatus grow from dung based substrates. Notice your mushroom seems to be growing from wood. So this will cancel it out...among with lots of other stuff :wink:

From that picture though...the colors look very similar. I can see why you could get them confused. !!
