too late to roll?
    #3008426 - 08/16/04 11:20 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Hello,
I have about 11 cakes sitting in my terrarium. Theyve been out for about 5 days now, and look ready to pin. (In my novice eyes.) I didnt roll them, out of plain old ignorance, and now they look pretty far ahead, the mycelium seems to be still growing, the outside of the cakes looks like they have fluffy mycelium growing on them. (NOT cobweb mold; this is slow growing, moist mycelium). My question is, is there a point where its too late to roll them? The myc looks especially fragile at this point. I dont want to damage or bruise them.

Also, should I make it a point to roll in sterilized wet verm or unsterilized wet verm? Does it matter at this point when the entire cake is aggressively colonized?

Actually I'd wait. Let them flush one time then since you should be doing a dunk between flushes you can dunk it then.

MAgash, thanks, but quick clarification: I was talkng about rolling, not dunking. When you say I can dunk it then, I know I plan to; should i wait to roll it then as well?
