Re: Any Shroomers in Ga wanna go hit the fields???
    #300836 -

Ps. cubensis CAN be found in GA, it just takessome looking. They aren't in every field, morelike one and ten around here, but they are here.

Ps weilii doesn't even grow near the cow pastures, and I doubt you've met someone whos picked them before, or even knows about them. Weilii was discovered in 95' and since then, only 3 people have found them.

Check pastures closer to the coast and south of I-20east, and you'll will eventually come across some cubes if you search hard enough.

Did I ever say that I met somebody who picked a weilii? No. I know that they don't grow in cow pastures like the cubes. How do you know that only three people have found weilii's? Do you know everybody in GA? I don't think so. Christ, now I remember why I left this board for so long.

Hey man, chillout, sheesh. I didn't mean to come off offensive. I was reffering to the people you met in athens that said they picked shrooms around the area, and then your question about weilii being the only shroom in GA. I was saying that they folks you met doubtfully ever seen, picked, or heard of Ps. weilii, which means they must be talking about cubies. Thats all I meant by that sentence.

About the 3 people, I meant 3 people that have been reported to have picked weilii. There may be more, but I doubt it, as this mushroom is not well known, and those who know about it are likely mushroom enthusiasts and would share and report their findings, and not some kids who is just out picking shrooms.

Now let me say I'm sorry for coming across the way I did, it was not intentional, the wording just came out wrong.

Sorry.

Lizard King,

Ya, sorry LizardKing, it had been "one of those days", and I'm not sure what came over me.
I've always found your knowledge informative and helpful in the past...keep up the good work.

You could try the Savannah river area. Possibly look around the Lake Hartwell, Lake Russel area for Ps. caerulipes come Sept-Oct. It'd be cool if anyone found them. If so, please post pics, as we have very few pics of this beautiful mushroom.
Stay cool!-Levi7.

The savannah river, eh :) I was up there for saint paddys weekend, and they turned the entire river green with some kind of dye. That town gets wild when partys are going down :)

And I have a small piece of property at lake hartwell that I stay at every summer. So will have plenty of time to look for mushies..
