remember when you first realized the ceasless Self
    #3006657 - 08/15/04 10:12 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

for me it was pure awe, wonder, joy, understanding, peace, harmony, love, it was even funny. i experienced, for moment, a realization of the unity of life, deep in samadhi, perhaps i had experienced a flash of 'nirvana'....really, it doesnt matter what we name it, or what people of old named it. so far, it has been the experience of my of life....i havent been the same since, and i am so grateful...sometimes when i look at the world around me, i become overwhelmed with this gratefulness that brings me to tears....i am a part of this, WE are a part of this. and we have this awareness, a self-awareness.

In the Beginning was only Being,
One without a second.
All creatures have their source in him.
He is their home; he is their strength.
As the rivers flowing east and wet
Merge in the sea and become one with it,
Forgetting they were ever seperate streams,
So do all creatures lose their seperatness
When they merge at last into pure Being.
There is nothing that does not come from him.
Of everything he is the inmost Self.
He is the truth; he is the inmost Self.
He is the truth; he is the Self supreme.
You are that!

if you can't find the truth right where you are, where else do you expect to find it?

this is the purpose

more of a rush -
a rush of being
than a sense of self

A sudden awareness that I had lacked before, a feeling of awakening to the illusions I had lived within, a sudden appreciation of the act of appreciation. Really, I can't describe it, but it's everything at once, yet nothing at all. And it's beautiful

Each blade of grass, every one of the thousand things suddenly a perfect form, needing neither explanation nor examination. Smiling as I walked barefoot, taking in everything/nothing as the sun rose and cars rumbled to life. Total absorption into this moment, as a concept of self became irrelevant. Beauty in all things.

Of course, cherishing this moment of oneness is another obstacle in making it a constant reality.
