growkit question about taking care of it...
    #3005925 - 08/15/04 01:08 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

My friend got a growkit and has it in a bag with an air filter with paperclips holding the top closed (folded over twice at top, about an inch). It's sitting in an aquarium.

She sprayed the top of the casing back and forth a couple times with spring water before putting it in.

The bag has tiny beads of water all over it inside. Should it be opened each day and re-sprayed, or just leave it? I'd guess its about 80-85% humidity. The temp is at 74-76 degrees.

Should the aquarium light be kept on it? If so, how long? It's a ten gallon aquarium, and the light is a "luminescent light", but I'm not sure what the khz on the light is.

Open it each day and spray the sides of the bag, try to avoid spraying the casing, though its not a big problem if you do.

The light only needs to be on for a few hours a day, 2 to 6 will do fine.

Okay...there is condensation on the inside of the bage, and if she moves it, some collects and little drops run down the sides in spots. She hasn't sprayed it in two days though and it is still like this...does she need to spray the inside of the bag still do you think if it's still got moisture in it?

Sorry for simple questions, my friend is pretty new at this.

open the bag and fan, or just fan the top of the aquarium? It has a plastic lid with an opening on it. It has an air filter on the side for gas exchange...I think the guy said it doesn't need to be fanned...I can't remember though.

I'm so sad no one has anything to add :frown: Heh...

So do I open the bad daily and fan it even though it has the air filter on the bag?

Should I still open it and spray the inside of the bad each day, even though it's still got condensation inside?

Yes open to fan at least once a day..

But as far as condensation, I would at least spray it once or twice when you do the fanning..
