More substrate in casings=bigger fruits
    #3003745 - 08/14/04 09:34 AM (13 years, 5 days ago)

This just incase anyone was interested:

After experimenting with casing PF cakes, I would like to declare that using more substrate has not helped produced bigger flushes or more pins, but the fruist are concitently heavier than before...

With 2 cakes per casing the my shrooms avaraged 5.5 grams per fruit, with a casings of 3 cakes substrate my fruits are at 10 grams... so twice the weight just because of 1 more cake... not more fruits but still twice as much cause of the heavier weight!!!

EDIT: Oh btw strain was Equadorian

Yep you just found out a well known fact yourself. Its good to do the experimenting though. I'm doing the same (with grain though), got all different sizes going (from 1/8th of a grain jar to 7 and 1/2 quarts all in one casing).

Growing with bags, start to finish (including my new grain and substrate prep)
Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..
How I do grain (old still good tips)
Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber
Casing layer colonization and overlay
