Okay, some more info, sorry, 720 ml jars with 175 grams of rye and 200 ml water were pc'ed 1 hour. These jars were shaken while hot and cooled down. After this they were innoculated with agar chunks from a fully colonised petri-dish. One agar chunk/jar Colonised in the dark, at 18?C (I know it's a little low). After one week 1 jar had a little mycelium growth, others do not show any growth. Jars were thouroughly shaken when agar chunks were in the jar. In the first week they also have been shaken a few times to spread the non-visible mycelium! I have now a heating mat, so the jars are getting at 20-25?C. I hope this will speed up colonisation! More to come........

That's very hard for me, I can only say, 20?C is room temperature, and 37?C is body temp. Dunno about the farenheit, but maybe this helps, wait I'll just look it up at haslta vista...just a sec

Found it:To convert ?F to ?C ( Farenheit to Celcius ) Substract 32, multiply by 5 and then divide by 9 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To convert ?C to ?F ( Celcius to Farenheit ) multiply by 9, divide by 5 and then add 32 so 18?C = 64.4 F 20-25?C = 68-77 F Better?

Well, if you were spawned off over a week ago and nothing has happened, my first instinct is something unseen happened(maybe bacteria contam..). However, given the temperature conversions, your heat is still a bit too low...82-86F(no idea what that is C) is optimal for mycelial growth. I personally find the hot water heater closet to be the perfect temperature(85F). Give it a few more days before you throw in the towel, and shake the HELL out of those jars one last time! Good Luck!

Whether the agar itself is continuing to grow mycellium seems to be the biggest clue here and it's still missing. Look at the agar slices and see if the cut sides and the bottom where no mycellium were present when you innoculated now have mycellium growing in those spots. The agar usually colonizes itself first before branching out to new food. The delay may be caused in part by the "new food" phenom.

The mycelium in the petri-dishes has grown onto the surface where once agar had it's place, the chunks in the jars are not visible due to the shaking. Only one chunk is visible and from there no signs of growth are visible! Will post new findings at the end of the week, maybe next week!

After putting jars on a heating mat colonisation appeared very quick. Throughout the whole jar white mycelium growth is visible. So this was a temperature problem SOLVED!!! Thanks for the help guys/girls, pictures from previous flushes will be posted next week!
