types of light
    #3001906 - 08/13/04 05:40 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

I am now "stealthing" my setup because i am moving into an apartment with a paranoid roomate who demands i keep growing hush hush. I made a setup with a large footlocker and wanted to put a light fixture in the lid. I was wondering, are flourecent lights the only "cool" lights? I didnt want to get a huge flourecent because the size is unnecessary. Are there any other options? P.S. I am correct in saying that a normal white light would fry the terrarium, right??

You can get little mini flours at home depot. They plug in to a wall socket and are 8 bucks each..get one or two depending on the size of the terrerium. They're only about 6 inches long but put out a good amount of light.

I don't think those will give enough light and then you would need one everyday.

There are all kinds of cool lighting that people use to pimp their computer. Cold kathode lights or LEDS produce a lot of light and only little heat.
