My friend Thomas died of meningitis yesterday. I lost Jill the same way in 2001. He has been in my avatar months.

I'm sorry man. How are you holding up? Were you both very good friends? I know from personal experience how difficult deadly medical situations can be. My sister recently had several heart operations and I've managed to survive meningitis twice now (at age 7 and at age 12). Keep us posted, man. I hope you feel better. You should definitely let everybody know how you feel.

I am sure he was cool. He was lucky to have a friend like you and you were lucky to have known him. You memories will make you ache for the friendship you have lost but they will keep him alive for you as time passes by. I have lost my mother and 2 dear friends this summer so I really know your pain. Hang in there you will get through this.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss. Losing a friend and/or a loved one can be very difficult to overcome, I've been there. Expressing your feelings, does help. Look to others for help as well, we are here for you!

A 14 year old girl at a local highschool got menangitus and died a couple months ago. From the time she felt bad to her time of death was less than 24 hours. Was it similar for your friend?

yeah, its a quick killer. i wouldn't know if it was the flu or menengitis...i've heard there are similar symptoms. i got a vaccination last year before i headed to college, i would reccommend the same to others.

I'm sorry for your loss. My cousin died of meningitis about 30 years ago. It is a sad time when we lose a loved one.

Thank you all so, so much for your kind words, they have helped me a great deal. Sir trips...yes, meningitis takes people usually within a 48 hour period of initial symptoms. We laid him to rest yesterday, I got to touch his coffin and say goodbye. I feel so much better, thank you for the support Shroomery friends. Soon the avatar will change, but he is still with me, and I was lucky to know him, if but for a short time.
