Pressure cooker suspicious?

If I wanted to use a pressure cooker to prepare a few jars, do you think my neighbors would get suspicious that I ran the PC a few times in a row? It would be in my apt. I dont know if people can hear through the walls. Im considering building a sort of silencer to enclose the PC while its hissing away. Or am I too paranoid?

I think that's a bit too paranoid. Most people don't even know what a PC would be used for in the drug world. If you are worried tho, do it during the day when they are most likely at work.

You'll be fine
Remember, pressure cookers are actually used for more things than cooking substrate. They can be used to make preserves, jams, pickles, canned meats and fish, you know, the origianl intent of a pressure cooker
If you ran your pressure cooker 4-5 times in a row, I don't think anyone would think anything of it. Plus I doubt anyone would hear it.
You're fine

As long as they aren't reading this thread, they have no reason to be suspicious.

Could they call the police and report 'suspicious smells'? Bird seed leaves an odor that is unmistakable to me.

Where I live people would never guess a pressure cooker could be used for shroomin. Everybody here cans cherries with thier PC's
I don't think you have anything to worry about but, if you have nosy neighbors. Then learn how to make jelly and jams that way if they come over suddenly, you can tell e'm your making stawberry jam and make sure you have a few jars of jelly around so you can offer them some from the last batch. That way you could PC jars on the front lawn!!LOL
or just tell e'm to fuckoff

shut your windows, close the doors, birdseed when pressure cooked or boiled only makes somewhat of a stale sweet smell.
dont make a 'silencer' make sure you DONT cover the vent of the pressure cooker unless you want an explosion in your kitchen

Scream "Help! Police! I'm being murdered! Help!" at the top of your lungs. I'm sure that will drown out the sound of the PC.
Just kidding. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Besides, if they do call the police, what will you be charged with? Cooking bird seed?

If I wanted to use a pressure cooker to prepare a few jars, do you think my neighbors would get suspicious that I ran the PC a few times in a row?
1. they probably wouldn't hear it. 2. if they did hear it, they probably wouldn't even know it was a pressure cooker. 3. if they did hear it and they did know it was a pressure cooker, they probably wouldn't know what you were cooking in it. 4. if they did hear it, and they did know what was it was, and what was inside it, they probably wouldn't know it was for growing mushrooms.
it's good to be cautious, but paranoia like this will drive you crazy.
Im considering building a sort of silencer to enclose the PC while its hissing away.
or you could always just put on some music....
Or am I too paranoid?

Erm... how much noise does your PC make???!?! If its screaming then you have the heat up too high. Not sure what PC you have, but if you have a pressure gauge or just a little pop up thing like mine, it just needs to be at pressure not screaming like a scalded fucker! I can hardly hear mine in the same room, through a wall? Forget it.

Come to think of it, the last time I pced I left the burner on medium high throughout the process. Is low recommended?

Use medium to get it up to pressure, then you can drop it down to low, it takes very little to keep it up to pressure once its there.
