Is my casing overlayed?
    #2997641 - 08/12/04 10:50 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

cause it gets its freak on at least 3 times a day!

Ok seriously though. I have two casings that have been in the chamber for almost a week. the myc has grown through my casing layer of verm and coir. The whole casing layer looks fully colozined.. its not thick or deal looking but the whole thing has myc reaching into the air all fluffy looking. kinda like fingers

the other has myc pretty much all over the top it also doesnt look dead.. it looks like regular colonized stuff.. this one does not have the airy strands.

with both the casing layer is still visible but its pretty much fully colonized.

neither of them had alot of casing colonization when i put them in.

what should i do?

That's not pretty cool.

Doesn't sound like overlay.. it sounds like its about to start pinning. Mine also look like that, and have pinned very well. The fingers are the beginning of hyphal knots, which will then turn into pins.

Make sure to keep fanning, and the light going. You still have a ways to go before the myc dies and it is truely overlay.

Overlay isnt a prob unless it's dead myc. Though, it sounds like your humidity may be too high and that's why you are getting the airy strands. Try lower the RH a little.

I'm not crazy...crazy.

Please answer this guy.

My friend who looks and talks exactly like me can't get his casing to give fruit either!
