storebought manure-compost OK from bag? or leach ?

Home depot has bags of steer manure compost + compost blend... i've heard mixed things on this from people

the thing that worries me is that it smells like it has alot of ammonia

should it be leached? does leaching remove wanted organisms? sun drying definitely would right?

yes, ammonia is bad. there is a leaching tek here you just have to search.

search the weed grower sites if not found here. But leaching wont remove unwanted organisms. why not buy some good mix?

will drying soaked compost in sun kill the beneficial micro organisms?

the God mix is tough to find, I would suggest a little Sheva, very little Christian, A lot of Abraham, and a pinch of Mohamed. but to answer this Q in the Shroomery and be fair to the Sponsors, check out High Mountain Compost. They sell 'shit' specifally designed for Shrooms. Albeit spendy.

I never had any luck with the store bought stuff but I also didn't leech it so maybe that was my problem....I have some friends of my family who have 2 horses and they put the manure out and get leeched to hell.....dosen't even smell like poo when I get it(tho its still wet).....these horses are also babied and fed the best of the best so I get some pretty good shit :laugh:
