Question about hunting

Are there any active species that grow on the side of trees like the ones with no stems they just grow out the side of trees and are pretty wide. Hopefully you know what I am talking about

Yeah, you mean like oysters. There are some Gymnopilus species that are active and match your description fairly well (grows from dead wood, but does have stem), but I'm not aware of any real oyster-like species that are active.

Why do you ask?

there are no psiloc[in/ybin] active bracket like fungi.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
