Yeah I mixed the dung and a pf cake 7 days ago now it is pretty much ready to be cased. I live right across from some horse stables and they have tons of composting horse crap where anyone could just walkup and shovel it out. I'm thinking about breaking up some pf cakes and raking them into to it when I make some more.

yo man

dung kicks ass! but regarding your question about maxing out the water content, id recommend you NOT to have your dung too wet or youre guaranteed contamination...

Can anyone please just help me out and answer these simple questions! I know not to have it too wet but I am wondering how wet it should be.

That would be a great idea to put some colonized cakes in that compost heap. Let mother nature fruit some mushrooms and spread the spores around the farm and you may be over picking mushrooms fresh in the years to come :)

"how wet should it be"

you want a simple answer to that question?
ok, 36.

seriously, how the fuck do you expect anyone answer such a question? moist, but not wet? dried til 3,6 deciliters remain? its so idiotic i cringe.

do this. wring out as much water as you can, then leave to drip overnight. hopefully, it will be just right. otherwise you can bitch about the bad advice here at the shroomery.
