Better for mycelium to grow quicker or slower?
    #2993727 - 08/12/04 12:59 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

If your jars start colonizing at 4 days after innoc, is that a better chance it will be successful than if it takes 8 or so days to start? What are the factors that cause it to colonize at faster/slower rates? Jus curious  :tongue2:

Spore rehydration plays the major roll in germination after that myc grows fastest in optimum condition. Whether it takes them 4 or 8 days to germinate will have no influence on vitality of myc but environmental factors will! GL Stephanie and welcome to The Shroomery!!!

could be a million reasons why it took 4 days or it took 8 days, doesnt really matter wether or not it starts sooner or later. Sooner germination would seem to have a head start, but theres a list that goes on about how many things could go wrong with either and slow or cancel their process of growth...

Yeah. I feel more at ease with fast colonization. It just seems like the myc. has beat the possible contams to the buffet line.

She was talking germination guys not colonization although her question is kinda fuzzy as always you want myc to colonize as quick as possible thats keeps contams down
