Visual Help Needed
    #2991834 - 08/11/04 05:29 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys newb here. I have not started my first grow yet but, I was hopping that someone could post some pics of what a casing looks like when it is optium for to initalize the fruiting process. Ive looked at pics of overlay and im having a hard time telling a difference between overlay and colonized "valleys". From the way ive read it Overlay is when the entire casing layer is colonized but, the pics of overlay that I have seen, look as though discribed when fruiting should be initialized. Forgive me for my ingorance, Thanks.

umm this:

turned into this:

i think you really have to forget your casing to let it get overlay. Pretty much my whole casing later was colonised and it turned out great. Dont forget to patch. Patching is necessary for a evenly colonised casing layer.

did you patch after the first picture and then put into fruiting chamber? or was that pic taken after a patch so the myc evened out?

And this is what "near saturation" actually looks like and IS the optimum microclimate for myc to produce to its fullest!

As simple as ABC  Water delivery IS something to be learned for anyone who loves growing! Can you see that glisten? Thats what i'm talking about in my posts

I see no glistening but my screen sucks. Explain more on water delivery please? I think I'm having probs with this. Have casings in chamber with 99% humidity. Shrunk away and I started misting. No more shrinkage but the myc went from beautiful and fluffy to flattened down. Maybe I'm hitting the myc with water to much? Maybe its cause I threw in some h202? It was less then a 1:10 ratio of 3%. Not sure, I'd think my casings have enough humidity, they just seem more dry to me..I dunno though.

Oh I only have been misting like the last 4 days, about once a day, sometimes twice. Started cause I was having probs with no pinning (or maybe not problems, who knows  ) but maybe its temp sticking around 74*..might try cold shock soon..

Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber
Casing layer colonization and overlay
