Yes, yes they are. Do you have the full 3 disc set? My friend loaned that to me awhile back and I fell in love with it. "Live Art" is another good one, "Outbound" isn't had either.
I love them but I'm still not sure what to make of Future man. I'd prefer a real drummer in there, I thihk Vic got all the music genes in that family.

The do indeed kick a great deal of ass. I still haven't seen them live, but I saw Bela Fleck & Edgar Meyer at the first bonnaroo which was pretty fucking great.

I saw that to and I seen them at the second bonnaroo, they are one helluva band. I'd go check them out if they ever come near you. They are fucking amazing, Victor Wooten is one of if not the most amazing bassist on the planet.

Yas, it is, I really like that one. It will be interesting to see what Mike does with himself after Phish. Hopefully the man gets involved in bluegrass, I'd really, really love that.

Victor Whooten is fucking impressive, anyone heard any of his solo stuff? If not you need to listen to classical thump and me and my bass guitar, for sure.

This is secondhand info so I could be wrong, but I think there are like 8 of them in the family, and they all play bass except Futureman. I'm pretty sure Vic was the youngest of the bunch. Personally I think he's pretty badass (futureman) despite the fact that he plays a drum machine he built instead of a typical kit.

I know he will do some cool things. If he did more with the bluegrass/flat pickers I would be much happy.

I haven't heard their new stuff, is it much different from their older stuff? I used to see them at the Telluride bluegrass festival, and caught them in my home area a couple of times. I think they opened for Phish once here.......or maybe they were two separate shows in the same place..god i have an awful memory. But I got to meet them and Futureman hit on me a bit.
