PDA should be around 5.6 +- 0.2
MEA 5.5 +- 0.2

It does seem kind of low... It's what's specified though. I'm not sure if that's the normal result or an adjusted pH, but it doesn't say anything about adjusting it. So if your pH is anywhere between 5.5-7.0 I wouldn't worry about it. A lower pH favors fungi and discourages bacteria.

Standard PDA is 5.6, and it works well. See: FastFred's Media Cookbook, in another thread in this fourm, for a good list of media and pH values.

Not really.....I never adjust the pH, use plain tap water and the mycelium always thrives. Actually i have no idea what the final pH is.
