I remember quite some time ago Workman was toying with the idea of infusing cubies with bioluminescent properties, probably just a really cool idea, but he would be the guy to ask for the scientific nitty gritty.

I have seen bioluminescent fruiting bodies....not psychoactive, but almost as cool, to say the least. They were in Monte Verde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica....everything glows in thedark there...insects, plants, fungus, worms....
They were amazing...I would have taken a spore print, but at the time, I did not know how to isolate a clean strain from a dirty print. Live and learn i guess...

There are a few species of mushrooms that apparently glow. Not too brightly.
One is the Honey Mushroom, an edible. I wouldn't get too excited though.

The reason the stuff in that picture only grows for two months and doesnt produce anything is because the biolumenescense (cant spell to stoned) takes alot of energy to produce leaving it no energy to put towards growing the shrooms and thats why the glow stops after two months, and idea i have is giving it more nutrients thatn usual alot more, hehe simple genetics from a 16 year old :)

I have grown luminous cultures of Mycena and Panellus. The mycena has very low luminescence on agar, and I have never been able to get it glowing as bright as Stamets' picture, so perhaps it is a senescent strain. Far more easy to grow is Panellus stipticus, a species closely related to oyster mushrooms which glows nicely on agar or woodchips. Workman should be able to help you out with the Panellus stipticus, otherwise PM me.
