Turkish Delight anyone?
    #2983550 - 08/09/04 11:05 PM (13 years, 14 days ago)

I have recently grown an obsession for turkish delight, such tasty stuff. Be it chocolate covered or just the plain rose ones. I was wondering if anyone has ever made any, or have any good recipes? I have found quite a few online but I was wondering if any of you have any personal ones?

They are sort of like a really firm/gummy jello. The most common flavours are rose (rose water i suppose), mint, and lemon. They are rolled in powdered sugar and can have nuts in them. It's a really odd taste but I ate them quite a bit as a kid and the taste has stuck with me. You should try them sometime, sold at turkish/greek stores. enjoy.

big turk is a 'chocolate' bar, and it's basicaly some chewy candy gummy candy covered in chocolate. it's pretty weird combo but i kind of like it from time to time.

maybe the turks were on to something?
