Does anyone have any experience using ionic air purifier to maintain sterile conditions? Are there any pros or cons using such a device?

I used to use one in my first glovebox I built over twenty years ago, in the day this setup worked very nice, the ion generator is one of those that attracted the negative ions it puts out to the positively charged base (at least thats what I think I remember). This setup resulted in 0 contams over it's 15yrs. of use (ultra sterile environment). Now a 24x48 dual fan 703 cfm HEPA flowhood is in it's place and i'll be the first to say man what a difference a open flowhood makes!!!

Awesome.Thats what I was wondering I suppose.I'm looking at an ionizer with a hepa filter and a uv gemicidal light that covers up to 500 sq feet for $179.Or should I look at investing in a flowhood set up?

yeah they work.......but to keep an entire room free of contams......

by the way Dycans......another nice pic.......

the door will be your enemy........

I had em in my bar.......they were smoke eaters.......and yes they make the smoke and every other thing in the air fall to the ground.......mines had o3 generators too

but IMHO they will lessen the rooms contams.......but not a 100%

peace
