I have tried Black Kow before, it sucked. i think it might even have some type of antifungal agent added. It started to colonize, then stopped and then did nothing, then a billion fruit flies took advantage. That was a month ago. those flies are still around, although in much smaller numbers, maby 1 a day or so. anyways

they do put anti shit in there...just go to the field and collect the cow poop. it will be better..

Follow a parade...Funny and I'm about goofy enough to volunteer walking beind horses with a flat head shovel as long as I get to keep the goods..Hehe, yea I was wondering why there wasn't mold growth in the bag when I cracked one open. But shouldn't sterilizing kill the contams as well as the anti- bacterial fungicides that are added? Anyway Friend has close to 00 half pints and around a dozen quarts she may try the black cow compost out along with some other crap..Thank for the replies.....Guys

Reposting results of this post. Friend did two experiments with this brand of compost. First was straight Black Cow brand compost and next a mix of vermiculite and Black Cow compost was combined to lighten the mix. 4 containers were used per experiment totaling 8 containers. 10 quarts birdseed vermiculite mix and 15 1/2 pint brown rice verm mix were used seperately with alternating Black Cow mixtures.. All failed to colonize, all was not lost because only 1 contaminated the others were simply cased after non-colonization was realized. Anyway, my experience with this brand was no good..........
