Hoping my spores aren't dead
    #2981305 - 08/09/04 01:20 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

Just innoculated 4 jars with a syringe that I made from a spore print last October. I sure as hell hope this works and that my precious spores aren't dead. Wish me luck.

Good luck. IF you made the syringe in october did you store it in the fridge. if you just made the syringe dont worry but if the syringe was made in october but store in the Fridge than you should be fine. Keep us updated on what happens

No fridge, I made the syringe with every intention of using it right away but it ended up sitting in my dresser drawer for 10 months. It's worth a shot, if nothing happens within a week I'll have to pay a visit to the little shop of spores.

Your spores will be just fine  Storing syringes at room temp may cause them to germinate but if the syringe looked as it should (without myc globs) then your just fine. GL Julia

i think because they are 10months old the colonisation may be a little slow

That's okay. As long as they're done by my 21st birthday (September 28) I don't mind. I learned from my first ever grow that patience is a virtue and mushroom cultivation is something that is better off "un-rushed".

Shouldn't make a difference at all really. She should be good to go  10 months is nothing in the life of a spore!

you should have started them on agar or in a sugar liquid media since they were so old.
