I would guess most vendors make about 8-12 syringes a print with the exception of mabye one, how many you use is up to you, my friend has stretched huge prints up to about 8 syringes.

It really depends on the size and darkness of the print.
I've seen some big prints that would easily make 20 strong syringes but most home growers will probably be working with smaller prints. A dark 1" print would easily make several. There's no telling just how many spores are in each print and how many are actually needed to ensure a syringe is viable. Too many spores is overkill (like eating mega doses of vitamins, most ends up in your waste unused) and too few is...underkill!

Probably 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch solid print is more than enough for a single syringe.

I like to make syringes from one print at a time. Otherwise, if you mix several prints together at once and one is contaminated, it screws up all the rest.

Thanks.

Now I want to know how to get my print off the lens paper I was told to use. Right now the print is folded inside the paper and the paper is enclosed with in a ziplock bag.

Use a knife or something to scrape the spores off. Sterilize the instrument first.

Can't you just use wax paper?

In general how easy is it for the avg. home cultivator to make good syringes from prints? And how easy to make good prints? I am still fairly new and will probably stick to syringes for a little while. But I would like to know if it is even worth it for me? I have no problem buying spores but would eventually like to have a more self-sustaining process.

learyfan, you can use wax paper you can also use a 1/2 pint jar, put a 1/2 inch galvinized wire bbent to keep cap 1/2 inch off bottom place a little distilled water then suck it up through syringe hole in the lid.
