Help With My Disease
    #2976477 - 08/07/04 07:34 PM (19 years, 7 months ago)

Hi. When I was born, the doctor found out I have a very VERY rare disease. I need to have light shined on me for several hours a day. Well my parents decided to put me in a giant rubbermaid type container. It is translucent, so I am not viewable to the outside, but my parents and I are concerned about how much light I'm getting and if it is enough. While I was inside, they opened the container a tiny tiny bit to peek in and it seemed like very much light was getting in.

By the way, this is in this thread because my disease makes me just like certain mushrooms in that I need certain amounts of light. How quirky!

Will the translucent container I am housed in take in enough light to sustain me and allow me to grow?

I hear those with your disease can grow with minimal light.   Your parents could cut a hole in the rubbermaid lid and glue some soft or rigid plastic over it to allow lots of light.

Light is not a big issue... If you think you can read by that light, then it's plenty.

I nearly asked this same question a couple of days ago...I don't think mine were getting enough light, because after I substituted the lid for some transparent film, they stopped looking shrivelled and fucked up and started growing properly.

For future reference, it is much easier to get your questions answered when you substitute "mushrooms" for "myself". Unless you really are very pale, shy, and 90% water. If that's the case, my apologies.
