Juncao Tek -> Hay Substrate

In the "Mushroom Growers' Handbook 1" at www.mushworld.com there is a tek described that uses dried and ground hay as a substrate.
The ground hay is usually supplemented with wheat bran, rice bran, calcium carbonate and sugar.
Sterilization takes either 2 hours at 121 degrees Celsius or 6 hours at 100 degrees celsius.

In the article it says that following species have been tested on that substrate:

It seems that almost any species would grow on this substrate - even exotic ones like Armillariella or Oudemansiella radicata ( still wonder how to grow these species ... :confused:

).

Has anybody already used hay as a substrate ?
Might be worth some experiments - what do you think ? :eek:
