Is this scale too cheap?!?

Well, I was searching mycosuply.com, and i found a scale for $2.95. It claims to measure in 1 gram increments, and i was wondering if this is somthing not to buy? I have never tried mushrooms before, and i think a more expensive model would be more sufficient for my needs, but if this is remotely ok for it's purpose, it is $2.95.
Oh ya, the website is http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=MOHS02

no, even though it only cost's 2.95 it would be a gross waste of money.

Uhhh... Ok how about this? $8.95 is still good http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=MOHS03 and it gets .1 gram increments, but it needs a bag

I just put an extra stamp on my heavy envelopes........"but is it remotely ok for its purpose?" Hell, my post office has a nice digi scale......you'd be better off making a counter balance and using 1 dollar bills(american) for your weights.........one buck is about a gram

That scale sounds like a finger scale. They suck.
Get a digi and don't spend less than $15. Don't spend more than $30.
My friend got a $50 dollar scale for $25 +s/h off of E-bay and it weighs down to .01 (one hundredth) of a gram. If you are strapped for cash, all you need is a scale that weighs down to the tenth of a gram.

No i'd mess up the 1 dollar bills scale, and plus, 1 your scale will only measure in 1 gram increments, i'd just as soon buy the $2.95 scale, anyway, i think i'll just go for a scale with a nice lcd readout, i'm pretty lazy and stuff. Oh ya, i am considering growing mushrooms, would it be bad to grow in a storage area outside, it isn't very clean, but if i inoclude inside my house, will contam's still get in?

Both work ok for up to 10 grams. Should work fine for dosing. Once its bent though, no longer accurate. Test with dollar bills (as said, about a gram) or nickels (5 grams). And both scales need to use a bag.

Bunk the cheap postage scales man!Either Digi scale or triple beam scale...you want a digi. They cost anywhere from $50-$200+.Get one that wieghs atleast 30 grams x .01 (one tenth of a gram). This way you can weigh up to an ounce plus 2 grams or you can wiegh out two tenths of a gram or a half a gram (.05).They are definately worth the money.

Thanks, i've decided on the digi scale, it's easier... But i don't plan on spending 200+ on a scale, thats a bit of an overkill for my purposes.
