Aquarium humidification
    #2978362 - 08/08/04 03:33 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Greetings - I'm busy experimenting with getting my aquarium properly humidified. I live somewhere in a pretty dry state and I am not sure if this has anything to do with my problems. But I have been experimenting with the Perlite technique, and can't seem to get the humidity to get above 86%. I have properly calibrated my hygrometer with the damp salt in the ziplock bag trick. Any suggestions?

One thing I have been wondering about if if I stick my humidifier in the tank. It is one that molecularizes the water. The water just sits in a tank and a fan on top circulates the evaporated water. Bit it is generally able to make my entire bathroom about 70 to 80% humid. So I am wondering if that would just be over the top inside of a thirty gallon aquarium. Any thoughts on this as well? Thanks.

Should, try it.

"life is like a drop of rain getting closer and closer to falling into a lake, and then when you hit the lake there is no more rain drop, only the lake."

Growing with bags, start to finish (including my new grain and substrate prep)
Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..

try this: No perlite. Just a air pump leading to an airstone in about an inch or 2 of water. If u put suran wrap or something over the top to seal it u get way more than enough humidity this way. perlite is really messy.
