Looking for sulfuric acid

Anyone know where I can purchase large amounts of sulfuric acid for cheap? I'd be looking for at least 50 gallons worth. I've tried calling several local chem distributors but I've had no luck.

Umm....well, it's only like 15 bucks a gallon at any local hardware store.....hit 25 of them and you're only at about 750$.
Undercover and all.
As far as chem suppliers, i think an individual ordering that large a quantity of ANYTHING will get more attention then he/she wants....
What the hell are you going to do with 50 gallons? Go into a battery-refurbishing buisness?

It's a good way to dispose of bodies.

So is 3 years with bag of quicklime in a swamp.
If i were disposing of a body, i'd be very wary of buying that large an amount of solvent.

You are going to have a very difficult time finding that large an amount of H2SO4 without holding a business license.

Isn't H2SO4 an ingrediant to explosives? Or am I just thinking of Sulphur?

It's a list II chemical. With a reporting cut off, I think, of either 25 or 50 gallons.

It's for an invention my dad came up with that I'm going to be helping with. Trying to get about 500 kits together so we can start marketing. Working on a patent, getting incorporated and such right now. When I'm filthy rich, I'll live like a king. Woo.

Oh, on a side note. I tried the phonebook finally and found a good local vendor who carries that along with the other needed chemicals. A sales rep is supposed to be calling me up tommorrow and we can go pick it up if the price is in the range we're looking for.

More power to you then!
You have to keep in mind though, that Sulferic acid is anything except for safe. If anyone gets hurt using your product, you can get sued.
By the way, what does this invention do?

We're also working on finding out what information we need to include as far as safety issues with the product go. The sulfuric acid will not be in a liquid state when the product is finished. As far as what the invention is and does, I would rather not say for the time being, atleast until the patent goes through.

If it's a car battery that's already been invented.

the fumes from the sulfuric acid can cause some pretty nasty damage to your body. Do you really need 500 of them all at once?

I need 8oz of sulfuric acid for each kit. The kits are not going to contain the sulfuric acid in it's liquid state. I'm trying to find legal information on shipping and any precautionary information that needs to be included with the kit. It is perfectly safe when used properly.
