Vermiculite Banned ?

I was Home Depot the other day and I asked one of the workers if they carried vermiculite . He said that they used to but had stopped because of a ban that was placed on it .

Has anyone heard anyhting about this ?

yes this is old news some people said verm was carcinogenic
but it isn't
.i ran into this problem for a while, too
a lot of big chains stop carrying it
but nurseries and small plant shops usually have it

It may be "banned" at the Depot.......and they will try and push perlite on you.......but just drive arround the corner to a "GOOD" nursery.......peace

Lowes has it. Really fine grade verm tho. I`d hit a nursery. Its really cheap stuff

Yep, had none at mine either. Got "horticultural" grade (medium size chunks, not too bad but I think I'd like slightly more coarse stuff) at a Frank's Nursery & Crafts place in case you have some of those nearby - and it even had a big yellow tag on the package "Asbestos Free" (which was the original 'panic' was that verm had asbestos in it, but now it doesn't). Not that it's probably awesome to inhale mica dust either but I guess it don't help cause cancer as much as asbestos does.

Fuck Home Depot.

My friend earned a forklift licence and lost it to driving drunk in home depot. He crashed into a glass shower and got caught (he usually speeds away).

The air in there is unhealthy too, as when he finally quit, his lungs felt lighter. He explained that the aircontent was saturated with all kinds of random shit that the customers would kick up all day. If you are a customer, you notice it smells like home depot, but if you work there it can give you headaches, nausia, etc.

Truth is, Home depot fucks things up and drove out local businesses and after that, they raise the price. They did this in my city where I live. I promote the idea of people just walking out with items unpaid for. I would advocate it by pulling up a bus and having people grab shit and fill the bus if had a bus.

Fuck home depot.

They suck for keeping me from vermiculite, thier emplyees can't help any one and they drugtest half the stor out of thier jobs. Please boycott or steal from them.

You can still get it though. Maybe its worse in some states than others.....or even worse and better in some countries .....Its a liability thing.
