Pins growing everywhere, except up
    #2972100 - 08/06/04 01:23 PM (19 years, 7 months ago)

alright i got a ton of pins, but like half of them grow either down, or to the sides of the mycobag. I tried setting the bag so the light is straight ontop, so they would grow up. Is there any better way to fix these? Don't they rot once they grow down for too long?

If you have a clear fruiting chamber there is probably light you could block from around the sides by setting up cardboard around the outside. Doesn't take much light to get them to try and go another direction.

its a mycobag.

What about taking the substrate out with all the pins and setting it into a dark colored tupperware with the top off?

You can wrap the bottom of the bag in aluminum foil or duct tape. Anthing to block light from any direction but up, this should help a lot.

"There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

Its a bag, how do you know your not doing it backwords and down is really up and up is really down, hmmmm? Maybe your shrooms are trying to tell you that youve got it backwords and want you to flip the bag over so they will be growing up
