First Grow, Outdoors, On Cow Manure

OK, I have never grown before and there is about 2 acres of undeveloped, highly overgrown land, within walking distance of my house. I am on the edge of a fairly large city and the land is being held and completely unkept, looked at, fenced, or any thing else so the owner can sell the land in about 15 years when the price goes up. The tempurature fluctuates between the low 60's at night and the mid 90's in the day. There is a small stream(1 foot wide, 6inches deep) that runs through it. Its so overgrown you have to literally crawl through parts of it and I was in there maybe 10 min and when I came out there was water dripping off my nose, chin, and fingures from the humidity. So I plan to dump some bags of cow manure out there and have some good mycological fun. I am worried about the temps though, but can always wait a month or so for it to cool down, so I will definitely be doing it eventually. So I'm looking for advice on temps and good outdoor strains for cow manure.

start prepping your spawn!
make a lot and save some for a few months

I'd use the Karo tek (search the message board for more info on it) to make liquid mycelium and mix it in with some slightly damp, pasturized manure. That should fix the water content and mix in some mycelium in it for quick colonization. I dont know how well this will work though, someone else might have a better idea.

You cant use karo to innoculate pasturized manure. Your best bet is start some karo jars and innoculate some WBS jars. You dont need to do the karo tek but it should cut a week off colonization and its late in the season. Either way order spore syrines asap and get started collecting quart jars, a PC, polyfill, and WBS.
