i want what i want

i've been through several threads today, typed out a big long response and then after re-reading it, i continously realize that it doesnt make any sense, and i dont believe it. i feel like i cut and pasted different snippets from different things ive heard from other people.
Thinking i know or understand anything brings me confusion and pain. Every frickin time. All i have is my gut reaction to the now, my undeniable attactions in life, my ravenous pursuit of what I Want.
yearning to understand or somehow morally & spiritually balance this chaos are hurdles.
can i get an amen?
(p.s. thanks for the inspiration, sclorch)

Notice how the best posts and replys come from the heart of the gut in someone? Always live and write from the heart of the gut! It's where YOUR life map and power to make it all happen is! AMEN!

I believe that you can only rely 100% on a couple things in life.
1. You Exist 2. You Experience 3. You Die
Try to learn from #2 otherwise you end up as the stupid type of person who does not learn from his own mistakes. The smart type of person learns from his own mistakes. Then you have me, the wise young man who learns from his own mistakes and other peoples as well.
SO BE IT, BELIEVE CLARITY, BELIEVE CONFIDENCE, YOU MAKE YOU
A FUCKIN MEN!

the only thing you can really understand is how you work with the world. trying to understand the world or other people is too big of a chunk when many of us have yet to fully grasp what we are in the first place.
you experience your own version of the truth, and that should be where you can start
as socrates did point out "the wise man is the man who knows he knows nothing at all."
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Socratic ignorance is a blessing, but it's important to remember that Socrates was prettty sure about some things, for instance the imaterial nature of the soul, and the Form of the Good as the foundation of all being. I agree that we each have our own little piece of the truth, but that doesn't mean any one person's verion of reality is all true, nor could any rational persion allow that two contradicting versions could both be true at the point of contention.

i agree shroomerydan, that's what I meant by personal truth, it's yours!!!! what works for you may not work for someone else, it's common sense really!
and by that socrates statement, it's just to slow us down afor a bit, step back and say, hey...it's ok that I don't know a whole lot.
or something

I don't think we distort the truth, because its always right there, but we sure have problems comprehending or "translating" it IMO

what i was trying to say is that truth is always there.a being can have knowledge of truth, they either accept it,run from it ,and an addition to running from it,they may also distort it to live comfortably falsley.

Man, I hear you brother. That's the constant challenge of life, figuring out whether what you say and believe is really true to your own heart or maybe sorta close but more like something that came outta someone else's mouth. Of course we're all influenced by what we hear, read and see and that's ok.... but to be truly critical and to be confident enough in ou rown ability to filter out the bullshit and interpret the world through our own hearts is the challenge. I question my statements everyday.... I hold ideas quite similar to ideas that other people have but I constantly question any conclusion I draw to see whether it holds up to what my heart, spirit, intuition, innate conciousness, etc tell me makes sense. It's important to scutinize where we aquire any notions we have, and challenge them until they hold up (and continue to challenge them as new information or ideas comes to light.)
