Some species of Amanita that should not be eaten.

I don't even think that it's A. muscaria var. formosa. There's a lot of Amanitas with warts on the caps. Amanita is probably the most dangerous genus to experiment with becuase it contains a fair majority of the worlds most deadly mushrooms. Don't take any chances.

those are the same amanitas I find in the Acworth, GA area every December. I have dosed them orally before, but you can not eat them raw! They are highly toxic raw! They contain Ibotine Acid, and the acid only turns into Muscimol when cooked at a low temperature with proper instruction. You can also peel off the layer of skin covering the cap, dry it out and smoke it. And that can be enlightening also, but you have to cook them or else you will really suffer. You see when particular Amanita Muscaria were eaten by ancients, the shamans could withstand the punishment on their guts, and the amanita would 'cook' in their stomach. Then their urine would contian muscimol alkaloids and people could ingest it. Kinda like how the Nordes drank the reindeer urine, the reindeer lived off Amanita. Amanita grows like crazy in December, under pine tress like presents on christmas, eaten by reindeer, and the mushroom is in a red n white outfit. Amanitas rock.

'Closest i could key down in "National Audobon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms" was;

Amanita rubescens "Blusher"

And from there it also suggests;

Amanita flavorubescens "Yellow Blusher"

One or the other or maybe something else.

Did any of the flesh stain the color red?

It is always important to try to help as many people as possible, but I guess some people just aren't meant to survive and reproduce.

Did you take that picture? If so what type of camera and settings did you have when it was taken?

Very clear and beautiful shot!
