How do I disconnect windows explorer?
    #2967031 - 08/05/04 08:59 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Well I took the advice of many here and switched my browser to Mozilla (Firefox) and I am quite happy with it. Here's my problem. Now I get pop-ups from explorer even though I have a pop-up stopper. I'm still getting adware on my computer even though I'm not using explorer. Is it possible to totally eliminate it short of buying a Mac? If not removed can I just unable it?

Look for an icon that says "Set program access and defaults". In there you have 3 options, "Microsoft Windows", "Non-Microsoft" and "Custom". It's pretty simple from there. You'll probably want to pick "Custom" because it'll only change what you want changed.

found it, thanks. It's in the "add or remove programs" dialogue box.

Microsoft has actually moved it around three times that I know of... making it 'easier' for the user to find it...
