Always tired
    #2965382 - 08/04/04 08:02 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Lately I've noticed that I've been oversleeping a lot. In fact I spend about half my day napping. I don't know where all my energy went, but I just seem to be tired all day and all night. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I want my energy back.

welcome to gettin old, pal.

try ginseng.  I like the liquid ginseng + royal jelly shots they sell at Whole Foods in these little bottles with tiny straws.

also, try excercise.  The more you keep active, the more energy you will have.

cut down on caffiene and sugary sodas.  that shit is no good for you.

make sure you take a good multivitamin every day.  Try to get one that is chelated or enteric coated, so your system actually absorbs the vitamins instead of just passing the pill through your digestive system and out of that famous asshole of yours

make sure you have a healthy attitude- fill your life with things you want to do, so you can balance out the things you have to do.

I bet when school starts, you will feel better.  When I attend school in the mornings, I am always mentally stimulated and energized by it for the rest of the day.

Maybe it's because it's still summer and it's ungodly hot outside. The hot weather always zaps my energy.

ime it's not that you don't have energy but more that you just don't feel like being active.

You'll probably get your energy back but it can take a while. maybe your body is fighting something (some weak ass flu or something that you not really notice)?
go out and do things

also sleeping too long makes you feel tired etc, what you described. just get out of bed on time in stead of nodding away over and over again. It is nice I know

another possibility is pfeiffer but I don't know much about that

Dude! I used to have the SAME problem! I went to a nutrionist to help me out with it. Eating a well balanced diet and excersising about 30 minutes each day (which is nothing, really...just turn on the TV and hop on the treadmill if you have one) really helped me. Now I wake up every morning for my UCLA classes at 7:30 without any problems. And I can stay up until 2 am without even yawning.

I really recommend The South Beach Diet for a new eating plan. There's a great book on it you can buy anywhere.

Good luck!

Same here, i put it down to a few things:

1. Bad diet, im working on this by eating more fruits and trying to cut out all of the junk i eat.

2. Depression, working on this also

3. Lack of exercise, trying to work on this but struggling

4. Laying in bed after staying up late, curing this by going to bed earlier and getting up earlier, i notice the difference already, getting a good nights kip really helps your energy levels. If you have a bad sleep pattern just get in bed at 10 one night and read a book, eventually you'll nod off and if you wake up in the night just close your eyes and dont let your mind get to active and you'll drop off pretty soon

These, in my experience, are what is causing low energey levels in me. Hope you can relate to a couple of things and work on em.

Oh yeah if you toke cut down on that to, i used to smoke and it made me very lathargic.

Peace

The trick is to wake up early, which is what old people do to refute it.

you could be depressed and don't even know it

you could have a bad diet

lack of exercise

you could be addicted to something

i sometimes have the bad problem. usually it's a combination of too much pot, alcohol, junk food with not enough happiness, women, pussy, goals, etc.

life sucks.

I'm the same way.. I know I have a problem with depression tho. I think I use sleep as an escape. I know that exercise has helped me in the past...problem is "Getting started". Good luck.

Lift weights, not pussy shit either. Do deadlifts and squats, they work the largest muscle groups in your body, the legs, ass, and back. Your body releases high amounts of testosterone when its worked in this manner. Do high weight and low reps. Testosterone is a major contribution to fatigue in men, probably the main cause.

it's really really easy to tell someone to 'just do it' but like Pinhead said, it's getting started that's the most difficult.
