purple mushroom?

ive found a white and purple mushroom,not BLUE but PURPLE.its very heavy, thick,and about 7 inches long.it has purple gills wide spaced.the mycelium at the base of the stem has turned purple just a few minutes after pulling it up.ill post pics later when i get home with the mushroom.i was wondering what this could be.

Habitat- growing in dirt and leaves along a river.
measurements 7 inches long cap- 2 inches wide half inch thick
stem-hollow off whitw with reddish/brownish verticle stripes
bruises- purple
shape-umbilicate
texture-dryish moist cool to the touch
visual-fibrous
taste-mild
growing alone in leaves and dirt

Where (as in which state or country) was it found?

What kinds of trees were nearby? If you don't know specific tree types, it's still helpful to know if they were everygreens (pines) or deciduous.

Are the gills free or attached?

Spore print color?

It may be cortinarius Iodes or another
court... I would look in that direction...
