hey i live in an area that turns pretty cold come winter, and don't wanna go hungry over winter, so does anyone have any ideas for me? the house is pretty open, so a space heater might not work too well, and keeping the heat at 85 all day is gonna be one hell of a bill, so any ideas to get around climate would be really great. as a though, would a reptile heat rock suspended in a large fruiting chamber be a good plan? just thought of that b/c i know many reptile need about the same temp. range as lil mushies.

bulk grows can tolerate substantially lower temps then casings/cakes this is b/c they produce a large amount of heat themselves in the process of "digesting" all the nutrients that are found in bulk substrates

it cost afoaf about 10$ more to have 5 tub in tub incubation/fruiting chambers runing 24/7 for a two moths those fish tank heaters dont take up hardly any elctrisity you can also rig it up to run off a batteries too
it was probly less than 10$ becouse there was other things going to and that was just a geuss he couldnt tell adifferance wenter was always cheaper becouse he used gas to heat the house and in the summer he used the ac non stop

I find growing in the winter is the best time to grow. In the summer it?s too hard to keep my grow chamber around 72f - 73f But in the winter the house is always 72f because that is what I set my thermostat at, so in turn my grow chamber is the perfect temp. I have a Tub in Tub setup that keeps the air around my jars a constant 84f. (With a pink panther insulation modification... to save energy)
I suggest if you are going to setup a TIT (Tub in Tub) incubator you use one of these heaters http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWA:IT they are the best in my opinion.
