Question about Hunting In SE Mich.
    #2959723 - 08/03/04 11:56 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

I posted this a few minutes ago but don't know what happened to it, anyhoo, I have been researching the active mushrooms for my area of Mich. and am wondering if Dung is the only place I'll find any. I am not keen on trespassing in farmers fields and will make friends with some local farmers in my area, but I was hoping someone may have found some active mushrooms in other wooded areas other than cow fields. I like hunting for them, its way more fun than growing them. Nature makes them so beautiful! IMHO!
Peace love and shroominess

Morels aren't out there now I don't think, though I guess you meant in general.

I hunt morels usually every May, there are actives in Mich. I was just wondering if anyone had seen them anywhere other than dung. Rules are for the police in my opinion. So be it.
Thanks for the response.
Peace love and shroominess!

Rules are for people who want to post in this forum.

If you don't follow them, you don't post. It's that simple

Nah, not offended in anyway. Just don't like hearing people disregard the rules.

As far as input goes.

You're going to be looking mainly for Panaeolus subbalteatus in MI. The best placed to look for these are horse dung(rarely cow), hay, and grass compost piles. I frequently find them growing from grass compost. I'm going to be making a site with TONS of pictures of panaeolus subbalteatus in a little while, I'll be sure to post it up here once it's done.

you have not been *very* offensive, but you did not even read the rules.

there is a thread at the top of the forum index titled Read This Before Posting. it is not optional, and you either did not bother to read it or did not see it. i recomend you read it before you post here again, as you've voilated the rules twice, on for each thread you started.

i don't care how you take this at this point, the fact remains that rules are nessecary for this forum to function and if you can't follow them, you don't get to post here. period. if you'd like to read and follow them, you're welcome to stay and be a parth of the comunity and i'll hapily bend over backwards trying to be helpful like i usualy do.

Gumby, Thanks for the info...I'll be sure to be looking.
Concretefeet, sorry for such offensive behavior, I did read the rules and was unaware of my breaking any.  I am into mostly photographing the various mushrooms I find on my hunts so from now on I will just post photos to keep from offending the heirarchy!
Peace love and shroominess!
