Need help ASAP... Casing layer soaked/pissed
    #2958177 - 08/02/04 11:51 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Alright, first of all, I am running a martha with a coolmist 24/7 and a ultrasonic on just 30mins on every 2 hours (which now I know is too much). Well I was just on vaction for 6 days, and am leaving tomrrow for another 7. I made sure I had someone (that knows nothing about muchrooms :frown: , but still kinda smart) to fill up my humitiers. Well...I come back and I see a pool of water where my pins are. So yes it's pinning, but the pins are like soaked in water. Also, some of the water looks piss yellow. Need help ASAP on what to do and whats wrong, I leave tomrrow.

Just turn off of the humifier for a while and let things dry up a little bit. You dont want a rot growing on yout pins. Everything looks saveable.

Cut the time to ten minutes every two hours. Keep it off untill your gonna leave so things dry a little. From the pics it looks like they will be ok.

Like they've said let things dry a bit as they take off they will suck up that moisture damn fast, I've seen flooded casings that turned out to be some of the most prolific flushes I've ever seen! GL bro
What more important at this point is to check the bottom of the bins to make sure theres no standing water if there is then drill holes ASAP otherwise you will get major contams of the anaerobic kind! Plus holes are cheap insurance. You have that nice "near saturation" glistening look that myc loves soo much but in this case it looks to be saturated :frown: increase fanning also between now and when ya leave. In the future if you get pooling remember you can always sprinkle dry verm on to soakup excess moisture  Again GL and Welcome to the world of mycology!!!  :mushroom2: :regularshroom:
30min. at 4hrs.

You need to get a new timer or this is going to be a ongoing problem.

Don't you think 30min. every 4hrs. will work? In the past this timing has worked for me with a coolmist in a perlite humidified bin. Also the inlet may need to be deverted from hitting the casing directly, just a thought

Sure with a cool mist 30 min is fine. He's talking ultrasonic though and all I know is things get pretty wet in 30 min of ultrasonic fog.  :mushroom2:

This IMHO is not a timer issue it is a water delivery issue guys very simple change your watering schedule not your timer and it's much cheaper too!!!

True, I'm hoping he has provisions for fresh air exchange also which is as I know you know is very important! I've created an excellent Homer2 fogger unit that provides fog nicely for two 4 tier greenhouses it also incorporates HEPA filtered fresh air.
